Publishing Note

"The Return of the Latter Rain"
A historical review of Seventh-day Adventist
history from 1844 to 1891
by Ron Duffield

As of December 2010, Vol. 1 has been printed a second time and is currently available at several locations. (see information at the end of this post)  For those who have obtained a copy of the 1st printing you may have noticed that in the rush to print the book before the 2010 General Conference session, a much-needed final edit failed to take place. That fact, along with problems created between two incompatible computer programs, resulted in many formatting errors as well. Despite these shortcomings, as of December, 2010, nearly 3000 copies have been distributed since the General Conference session.
With the second printing much effort has gone into correcting typographical and grammatical errors, formatting mistakes, missing references and confusing chapter organization. Nevertheless, with all the work that has gone into improving the book, it still remains the collective effort of laymen whose expertise is not in the writing, editing, or publishing profession.  Any corrections are welcome.
It is our prayer that The Return of the Latter Rain might play a small part in a renewed interest in the subject of the latter rain and give a credible answer for its long delay.  Future chapters that will cover years 1891 through at least 1900, are currently being written and will be published as a second volume,  Lord willing, in 2011.

The 1st printing is basically sold out. The 2nd printing is called a 2nd edition because of a number of needed corrections.  There are also a few added footnotes, some chapter reoganization and reformatting in a few places. So, it is basically the same book, just cleaned up.

Volume 1, 2nd edition, printed Dec 2010, is now available and can be purchased from one of the following:
